Share & SaveMore Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesLushoto, Tanzania, is a rural, agricultural area with high rates of unemployment and communicable diseases. The town market is the primary source of contagious diseases. We plan to create 10-20 new waste management jobs by building a small compost and biogas facility on-site. Properly managed waste will reduce disease occurrence for an estimated 600 families and local families will be able to access clean energy for lighting and cooking needs, and organic fertilizer for farm use. ActivitiesWith local government support we will build both a compost and biogas facility in the Lushoto town market and provide technical training and business and market development services for both products.
