When disasters strike Ford communities around the world, Ford is ready to assist. In 2005, in response to the Indian Ocean tsunami and subsequent disasters in the United States, Bill Ford created the Ford Volunteer Corps (FVC). Through FVC, Ford recruits employees, retirees, and others in the Ford extended family, connecting them to a broad range of projects around the world.
Check back here for updates on Ford's disaster relief work around the world, and in times of disaster for the ability to give directly to specific relief projects in affected areas.
UPDATE: Thanks to the amazing generosity of the Ford community, the matching funds of ¥500,000 RMB (approximately $71,000 USD) have now been committed. Ford encourages employees to give generously to China and Myanmar relief projects, but no more funds are available to match employee donations.
