How It Works
Ford GlobalGiving is a whole new way to power your generosity and support great ideas, offering you an efficient, transparent way to make sure your giving makes the most impact.
Ford Motor Company Fund, Ford Brazil, and GlobalGiving are piloting this program in Brazil, where Ford Brazil employees had the opportunity to nominate charitable projects for grants from the Ford Motor Company Fund.
Here's how the process works:
- Ford employees nominate projects. Nominated projects should be connected with an established charitable organization, and be able to provide budgets and other supporting documentation that speak to the organization's track record. Nominated projects should be closely linked with communities in which Ford operates, and must not exist primarily to promote a particular religious viewpoint, or discriminate in providing services. Nominations can include projects that Ford offices already support.
- A Ford selection committee (consisting of Ford employee and community leaders) makes recommendations for Ford Motor Company Fund grants in an effort to fund the most relevant work possible.
- GlobalGiving reviews and qualifies projects for funding, according to best practices in international grant making.
- The Ford selection committee will decide how to allocate Ford Motor Company Fund grants, and Ford employees can support these efforts by contributing to these projects.
GlobalGiving encourages projects to post regular progress reports, so donors see how their contributions have been put to work and the results that have been achieved.
