Project Needs and Beneficiaries

The CHILD Program addresses poverty in Mutasa rural District of Zimbabwe. This is an area where food, education, and valuable resources are scarce. CHILD offers the tools needed to combat poverty and specifically with the drip kits, to enable people to grow food to attain food security for the families in the project. The increasing number of orphans residing in the area are indirectly assisited as part of the extended family.

Activities
ASAP provides the drip irrigation kits that improve the production of gardening by producing three crop cycles. In addition, field officers provide seeds, fertilizer and training to be sure the family is fully prepared for gardening success.
Expected Outcomes
At a time of critical food shortages, the CHILD program will enable 100 at risk families to develop food security by improving the growing of food for themselves and for the community. This will serve about 600 people plus orphans in the community.
Project Message
"During a field day in Zimbabwe , there were many women, each singing of their success in ASAP's CHILD program. One woman stood up and said,"ASAP we don't want your money. We only want more knowledge.
- Tom Arsenault, President, attending a field day
