Projects currently available for funding range from those providing
short-term emergency relief-food, shelter, and medical care-to others
focused on longer-term recovery-rebuilding homes, schools, and providing
financial assistance for economic development.
In addition, The North Face, one of GlobalGiving's corporate partners,
is facilitating an
in-store collection event from November 18-23 where consumers
can donate used or new tents, warm clothing, sleeping bags and other
critically-needed outdoor gear to earthquake victims. Relief workers on
the ground in Kashmir,
along with several North Face athletes, will help distribute the
goods to survivors in some of the most remote, inaccessible villages.
GlobalGiving and The North Face have an existing
international philanthropy program
that supports projects in communities where The North Face athletes
explore.
Bring in your gear! Find a North Face Store in your area
or, ship your gear to Los Angeles where it will be sent on to
Kashmir.

Along with the film release on November

Syriana uses mainstream film to raise awareness about how oil
dependence jeopardizes global security, increases economic
vulnerability, and pollutes the environment. The "Oil Change"
campaign encourages moviegoers to support change in how the global
community uses energy. In addition to providing innovative
international renewable energy projects to promote in the campaign,
GlobalGiving also built and manages Participate.net's donation
capability.
