What was the GlobalGiving Open?

GlobalGiving is always looking for different ways for qualified organizations to enter the marketplace. Such new approaches must be able to identify and determine impact, credibility, and capacity. We'd like to see some new faces on our website!

The GlobalGiving Open, held in 2006, provided Project Leaders with several opportunities to compete for a chance to post a project on globalgiving.com. As a result, eight new projects joined the GlobalGiving community.

The process had two stages:

  1. Organizations sent us information about themselves and their projects.
  2. The GlobalGiving community voted, and determined which projects should be on the website.

We're planning several open access events this year with the long-term objective of having access be as open as possible on a continuous basis. If you would like to be notified about these open access opportunities, please send an email to Manmeet Mehta ().
