Eligibility for GlobalGiving
Can you answer “yes” to these basic requirements?
- My organization is a registered non-profit in my country ?
- I am committed to updating donors every three months on the progress of my project ?
- I have the ability to communicate with GlobalGiving in English, including translating documents ?
- My organization does not discriminate in selecting its staff, board, and beneficiaries ?
- I understand that funding through GlobalGiving is not guaranteed, and I will be encouraged to fundraise and promote my project independently of GlobalGiving ?
If you answered yes to all these questions, you are ready to apply!
APPLICATION PROCESS FOR LISTING PROJECTS ON GLOBALGIVING
Four Referral Options
1. Have a GlobalGiving Partner Organization refer you.
GlobalGiving partners with many organizations around the world to find great local projects. These organizations are primarily U.S.-based 501(c)3 organizations that vet the potential project, and certify that the project's methodology is sound and that the project leader has a strong track record.
Click here to view the list. If you see an organization you work with, please contact them directly and see if they are willing to recommend you and your project to GlobalGiving.
2. An existing Project Leader can refer you.
If you know of a Project Leader who is already featured on GlobalGiving, you can ask if they are would be willing to refer you. They must know your work enough to be able to answer several questions on our referral form and recommend you as a good candidate.
Click here to view current projects. If you see a Project Leader you know, please contact them directly and see if they are willing to refer your organization. They can then go to the Community Home Page to refer you.
3. A GlobalGiving donor can refer you.
If you know a donor who has given through GlobalGiving and is familiar with your work personally, you can ask if they are willing to refer your organization to post a project on GlobalGiving. They can then go to the Community Home Page
4. You can refer yourself!
If you do not know a Project Sponsor, Project Leader or anyone affiliated with GlobalGiving, the final option is to participate in an Open Access Challenge, which occurs several times a year.
The Challenge is to mobilize 50 donors and $3,000 in donations in 21 days. By meeting this goal, you demonstrate to us your ability to successfully fundraise on GlobalGiving.
To participate, Project Leaders must:
- Fill out an ‘Expression of Interest’ form
- Wait to hear back from GlobalGiving regarding the next Challenge
- Submit required Due Diligence documents on time
- Understand the Challenge requirements and make appropriate efforts to mobilize donors
