Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Bangladeshi culture sees children as passive and controlled by adults. The understanding and awareness of child rights is almost non-existent. Combined with social mores of hiding experiences of physical/mental abuse and coerced into silence by the abusing adults and their protectors. In order to save the children from the stigma a comprehensive community based reintegration process is required. Beneficiaries: 40 trafficked children, victims of exploitative employment or prostitution.

Activities

Survival support (food, shelter, clothing, treatment, education, legal, etc.) to 20 children and establishment of community-based preventive mechanism for fostering the process of sustainable reintegration.
