URPICHALLAY: Improving Rural Schools in Peru
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesThe majority of rural schools in Peru are located far from cities, and as a result they lack sufficient attention from the government. This neglect leads to a number of problems, such as deficient infrastructure and educational materials, inadequate teacher preparation, and separation of children from their communities and culture. The beneficiaries are 12 schools, 48 teachers, 1600 students and 720 parents from 5 rural communities. ActivitiesTraining teachers, enhancing school curriculum, promoting the participation of parents, and strengthening ties between the children and their communities in Peru.
