More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
The need to transform the culture of abuse against children and women is urgent in Mexico. These people live in a violent environment where the lack of money is one of the many factors that make people feel depressed. Children and women are often the target when this frustration has to be discharged. There are very few public services to help low-income families when abuse problems arise in the home. The only public Mental Health Hospital that existed in Mexico City has been closed.
Activities
5-month training courses on learning a special methodology to help discharge emotional burdens that often lead to abuse, provided to teachers, social workers, psychologists, and all people working with children.

Potential Long Term Impact

Project Message
As a Mexican mother with European background, I am sensitive to child abuse in this culture. As soon as I began working to prevent sexual abuse against children, each day has been emotional.
