More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesThis project brings relief and assists in disaster readiness. In the desert areas drought occurred 9 out of the last 13 years. The last drought period extended over 3 years. Also, an increase in population and integration of pastoral and urban economy has made livelihood unsustainable. When drought lengthens, employment opportunities become scarce and earning is less. As such, families suffer from hunger, disease, and impoverishment. ActivitiesActivities include establishing a base line, monitoring the level and causes of disaster, and communicating through print and electronic media.
