More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

The people of Burujawada village live in a remote forest area 20 inaccessible miles from the nearest health center, which only meets sterilization needs. Without health care, villagers are unable to treat their illnesses, such as skin infections and digestive disorders. A solution has been found in local roots and herbs that have been identified as having medicinal properties. With training from an herbalist, these medicines can be prepared for locals, and sold to neighboring villages.

Activities

An experienced herbal practitioner will train villagers in the preparation of medicines. Funds will pay for training & equipment such as sieves, grinders & packaging materials. Medicines will be prepared, packaged and sold in 5 neighboring villages.
