Mission

K’inal Antzetik ("Land of Women" in the Mayan Tzeltal language) was founded in 1995 to promote gender equity, social justice, democracy and autonomy in Chiapas by supporting indigenous women’s collectives and providing assistance in other areas of personal, family and community life.

Programs

K’inal Antzetik has helped the Jolom Mayaetik cooperative develop its own independent financial systems, product designs and marketing strategies. Ongoing training and support to young indigenous women in computer skills, financial administration, public speaking and other business abilities is provided. In addition to supporting collectives, K’inal Antzetik runs education and health programs and a program on communication and women’s rights.
