Summary

The center cares for 900 AIDS orphans and street kids in rural Uganda, but the children's opportunities are limited by the almost total lack of transportation. A school bus will end their isolation.

How You Can Help

	$35 - Covers food, basic medical care, water, electricity, clothing, and school fees for one child for one month.
	$75 - Provides supplemental nutrition, protein and vegetables, for 250 children for one meal per week.
	$1,400 - Provides bunk beds, or 20 triple beds, for 60 children

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

These motivated children have thrived under the most difficult circumstances. Because they are given an excellent education as well as care and love, the children have excelled academically. They need reliable transportation to compete with others on a national level. By joining in cultural events, music, art, athletic and scholastic competitions, the children will broaden their horizons. Only then can they reach their full potential as future leaders of their community and their country.

Activities

These children have excelled academically under very difficult circumstances. We will buy a used school bus so they can compete on a national level with more privileged children.

Potential Long Term Impact

The center will be a major factor in regional economic and social development. It will support education, including HIV/AIDS education and job training. It will empower women and slow the out-migration of youth by providing access to non-farm jobs.

New Bus!

Even without the full funding of this project - we have brought home a new (used) bus for the children! Even though we now have the bus, the funding is still needed. They children are so happy and so proud. Thank you to all those who generously gave towards this dream.
