Dear GlobalGiving donors,

Greetings from Grameen Shikkha!

Please find attached profiles and progress reports of the students sponsored by you. We have started three permanent scholarship funds with your donations.

Thanking you for your support to some poor meritorious students in Bangladesh.

If you have any queries please feel free to ask.

Scholarship update from Grameen

By Nurjahan Begum - Project Leader, August 16, 2007 03:38 PM

The funds received will start a scholarship program (in the name of Grameen Shikkha referring to GlobalGiving as the account holder) in December 2007. We will start three scholarships -- two of Tk. 500 per month and one of Tk. 250 per month. These scholarships will awarded to poor meritorious school students.

The principal fund (Tk. 250,000) will not be expended and we will give out these scholarships from the income of the fund. Thus these scholarships will be continuing. Once a scholarship holder finishes his/her studies, the scholarship will go to a new student.

We will send you particulars of the scholarship recipients once we have finalized the names.

Thanking you,

Nurjahan Begum
