Village Business Skills for Tsunami Victims
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesThe tsunami destroyed numerous villages and displaced thousands of people. This project will benefit more than 380 internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Banda Aceh and neighboring villages of Kajhu who have found refuge in the Bakoy village and Sukadamai, on higher ground 5 miles to the south of the desolated areas. These families, now in temporary housing, need assistance to rebuild their lives. More than 60% of these IDPs are female. ActivitiesThe Sukadamai and Bakoy communities and Puspem have identified a program of micro-enterprise self-help activities, such as: learning embroidery, raising chickens, printing, electronic services, photography and journalism. Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: $10 Funding InformationThis project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Progress Report" tab as they become available. Donors' contributions and pledges to this project totaled $10. The original project funding goal was $30,200.
