Education on Sex Workers' Rights in Hong Kong
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesThe sex industry is an open secret in Hong Kong and an inseparable part of social and economic life. However, sex workers are vulnerable to exploitation by employers and clients and are marginalized by conservative Chinese society. Because of legal and social constraints, sex workers are often unable to receive adequate health care services or legal protection for their work. ActivitiesAFRO seeks to launch a public education program about sex workers, using sex workers themselves as peer educators to speak to universities and women's groups. AFRO also seeks to print 3 sets of educational materials on sex workers' health issues. Funding InformationThis project has been retired and is no longer accepting donations.
