More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesAs the number of manfacturing jobs in Hong Kong decreases, older female workers find it more difficult to support themselves or obtain higher-skilled and higher-paying jobs. The Hong Kong Women Workers Association (HKWWA) seeks to target the women of the Kwun Tong District and staff and students at a local university in order to explore cooperatives as a means of economical empowerment. ActivitiesHKWWA seeks to organize studies of organic farming, train and educate co-op members, create alliances and networks between farmers and consumers, and promote a collective consumption movement in Hong Kong.
