More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesUnderprivileged women and adolescent girls will directly benefit from our project through social change. Low-income women in Bangladesh cannot afford to purchase sanitary napkins (cost: $1 per packet). So they use unhygienic cloths during menstruation and then suffer various infections and reproductive health problems. Many must be educated about the necessity of using sanitary napkins to maintain good health. ActivitiesSet up of a low-cost sanitary napkin plant that utilizes simple machines and local products. Napkins will be targeted to poor women and girls working in garment factories and those who are already learning about proper hygiene.
