Mission

.To establish an infrastructure of services for infant and preschool children with intellectual disability living in poverty and training their mothers to become our co workers thus linking poverty, disability and women’s empowerment.

Programs

Awareness through puppet theatre; Disability identification surveys, Training of mothers for income generation and marketing products made .Training community women for survey work ; Inclusive Preschool for disabled and non disabled ,Rehabilitation and therapeutic services.; Advocacy for inclusive education with local government aided schools . An online communication Network on mental handicap .Organizing workshops for different levels of community needs

Pramila Balasundaram - Founder-Director
A postgraduate in English Literature and Semantics plus training in Germany on services for the mentally handicapped .Trained also in Drama Therapy and Leadership Skills. Made presentations in international conferences, authored many articles and published a book called Sunny’s Story. Received an Award of Recognition from Inclusion International. On two Asian and two Government Committees

Dr.Krishna Vatsa - Director- Projects
M.Ed. (Special Education).PhD.(Education)with focus on CBR from University of Manchester.Presently,Director -Projects with overall responsibility for all three service units .Additional training in Management, Drama therapy, Portage. Registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India and on theirs as well as our own Training faculty. She has presented papers in many international conferences.

Shaila Howard - Co ordinator . Self Help Groups
She has passed her 12th Std ,has done the teacher training organized by us in our target area , which is a four month module in teaching methods for the mentally handicapped , survey and home intervention techniques .She has completed a Bridge Course conducted by the Rehabilitation Council of India and is registered with the Council. She has fifteen years of experience in Samadhan
