Afghanistan Distance Learning Teacher Training
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesLess than 25% of the rural population is literate and the devastation wrought by 23 years of war has virtually eliminated any physical infrastructure or social service delivery. Less than 15% of Afghan teachers are estimated to have undergone formal training. These under-prepared teachers work with virtually no instructional materials and many cannot travel to receive training. "Teacher" currently reaches 25,000 teachers and over 500,000 school children. ActivitiesEach week the teachers will learn new teaching techniques, poems, and ideas for the classroom.
