Sudy finds major improvement in health and income for the families using improved looms.

30 ergonomic looms were distributed in families in rural areas. The impact of these looms was assessed on the health and income of these families. 58.3% of the ergonomic loom users stated that their income had improved, and 29.2% said it had not changed. Also major drop in complaints related to health was noticed in the ergonomic loom users versus the traditional loom users. Attachments:
Punjab Government in Pakistan comes in a big way to support the project

The Punjab Government in Pakistan has pledged funds to provide 3000 ergonomic looms in 12 districts of Punjab. These looms will be provided on 50% subsidized cost. The iniitiative is aimed at imprving the health and income of the carpet weavers, 80% of the whom are poor rural women.
