Mission

The Association unites artists, teachers and culture propagators who are engaged in artistic work with children, teenagers, adults and the elderly, especially from so called dysfunctional groups. These include physically and mentally handicapped persons, the poor, the unemployed, children and youth from pathological environments, victims of violence and people with addictions. Our aim is to bring them back into the community and different walks of life.

Programs

We run various cultural and social programs for marginalized groups. Operating mainly in the Bielsko-Biala region with special attention being given to the needs of little centers in towns and villages. Our main activities focus on workshops in the arts, educational projects, training programs for art instructors and therapists, and publishing books and magazines. We have 13 theatre groups, 2 computer animation workshops and a Vocational Training Centre and Workshops for 70 disabled people.

Personnel Overview

Maria Schejbal - Co-ordinator of Educational Programmes
Since 2000 she has worked in the Grodzki Theatre as author and co-ordinator of cultural and educational programmes realised by the Association, including European educational projects funded by the European Union. She is also an experienced theatre instructor and teacher trainer. She has published two books on arts therapy, and is an editor of a magazine for disadvantaged young people.

Agnieszka Ginko-Humphries - Assistant Co-ordinator
2000-05 she worked for the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs at their diplomatic mission in London (Polish Cultural Institute) as Programme Co-ordinator. She coordinated many cultural and educational programs and organized a variety of arts events in the UK. She was also responsible for Polish language classes, sponsorship programs and media contacts.
