Enabling Nourishment for Bolivian Communities
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesIn Bolivia, diabetic patients are completely excluded from the health system, especially in rural areas, because the patients do not receive medicine and treatment. Also, the personnel that treat patients initially are not adequately qualified. As a result, many patients die early; there are health complications; and diagnosis of problems is late. The program seeks to enable 1,148 health teams to provide initial treatment and to improve quality of life in 489 communities. ActivitiesThe foundation's most important activities are using a medically qualified health team in initial treatment of diabetic patients and teaching implementation of healthy and nutritious lifestyles in the communities.
