Share & SaveMore Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesWater pumps powered by photovoltaic (PV) solar energy, water cisterns and drip irrigation are efficient water technologies for crop irrigation and to improve access to water in poor communities. Radio, run primarily by women, is used to disseminate information about water harvesting and management strategies. The project will train 13 agents in radio and water technologies and install one water technology as a showcase to be replicated within a severely underserved community of farmers. ActivitiesThe project will train 13 women leaders, "cyberela" agents, in radio, photovoltaic systems and water technologies in a 10-day workshop. They will use their skills to install and maintain radio centers and water technologies in their communities.
