Zambian children receive free surgery

By Devon Watts - Assoc. Director, Foundation & Corporate Relations, August 09, 2007 05:05 PM

Thanks to the generosity of GlobalGiving donors and other Interplast supporters, the Zambia burn surgery project has been a great success thus far.

During the past 12 months, Interplast's surgical partner in Zambia has performed 184 procedures on 75 patients. These patients are Zambian children who, in addition to living in extreme poverty, have suffered from severe burn injuries that left them disabled. With the help of Interplast and supporters like you, these children have now regained abilities, such as the use of their hands or arms, that are crucial to their survival and productivity as they grow into adulthood.
