Nyala Dairy has always relied on individual entrepreneurs for milk collection from farmers and delivery to the cooling plant. One of the challenges Nyala faces is competition from other processors for transport services. Access to credit has been found to be transporter's primary motivator for servicing cooling plants. With the advice of TechnoServe, Nyala has introduced a village bank to cater for the communities most basic financial needs. Nyala Dairy village bank opened its doors in 2005.
