Mission

DCBF is a US 501 c3 nonprofit charitable supporting organization and a Brazilian NGO dedicated to aiding street children and impoverished youth in Brazil. We work in partnership with local organizations and NGO's to provide: education, moral and social development, humanitarian relief, and the offering of opportunities where there were none before.

Luke Dowdney - Founder & Executive Director
Luke Dowdney has a masters in social anthropology from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Luke founded Fight for Peace & is director of the Children and Youth in Organised Armed Violence(COAV) programme & author of Children of the Drug Trade: a case study of children in organised armed violence & Neither War nor Peace: international comparisons of children and youth in organised armed violence

Leriana Figueiredo - Project Coordenator
Leriana holds a master in Environmental Science from the Universidade Federal Fluminense. She has spent more than 5 years coordinating projects with youth in favelas in Rio de Janeiro, including exchange programs between youth in situations of risk from Brazil & Germany.

"Gibi" Antonio Cruz - Boxing Trainer
Antonio spent 7 years as the assistant trainer of the team Clube São Caetano em São Paulo. He competed for 10 years as an amateur boxer and has participated in major boxing expeditions in and out of Brazil where he won many times.
