MADRE, An International Women's Human Rights Org.
MissionMADRE works in partnership with community-based women's organizations worldwide to address issues of health and reproductive rights, economic development, and other human rights. MADRE provides resources and training to enable our sister organizations to meet concrete needs in their communities and develop long-term solutions to the crises they face. MADRE addresses the negative impacts of US actions abroad and empowers people in the US to challenge and change destructive government policies. ProgramsMADRE addresses the following issues within a human rights framework, recognizing that the enjoyment of any specific right—such as the right to food, education, or freedom from violence—depends on protecting the full spectrum of human rights: War, Recovery, and Building Peace; Women’s Health and Sexual and Reproductive Rights; Trade, Aid, and Economic Justice; The Right to Food, Water, and Environmental Sustainability; and Indigenous Peoples’ Rights and Resources.
