More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Landless farmers in Nicaragua face persistent poverty and uncertainty for their families. This farmer to farmer mentoring program purchases land for landless farmers, then assists them with land financing, training on new crops and techniques, marketing of crops, and value-added activities. This allows the farmers to own their land, building not only sustainable incomes to feed and educate their families, but also land where they can build homes and provide decent shelter for their families.

Activities

Each participating farmer has access to financing for their land and crops, training on crop techniques, new networks and access to markets, and value-adding activities, such as a new coffee co-op that is packaging and marketing their organic coffee.

Total Funding Received to Date: $10,285

Latest Update from the Field

Farmer to Farmer Update

By David and Wendy Vanklinken - Farmer to Farmer, October 29, 2007 05:50 PM

David and I want to thank you for your support in the past year for the work being done in Nicaragua.

It would be a pleasure to Partner with you to continue to be a part of the ministry here in Nicaragua and in Africa. We have created a blog and have attached an address to keep you up to date with the latest happenings. http://www.partnerworkinnicaragua.blogspot.com

The Lord has continued to accomplish great things in Nicaragua with Partners Worldwide work.

The Farmers and their families are becoming more knowledgeable in marketing and learning new technology. New business like sewing, bread making and coffee packaging are among a few new jobs created.

Your continued prayer and support would be appreciated.
David and Wendy Vanklinken
