Ramadan's Special Opportunities in Sudan
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesIn the poorest areas of Khartoum desperate Sudan refugee families fleeing violence & drought, particularly widows, elderly & orphans, get food covering a family of seven for two weeks of "iftar" meals, when the day's Ramadan fast is broken. ActivitiesIn cooperation with local Islamic "Zakat" (alms) committees, the most needy are identified & food packages are distributed, again with local people. Food packages each contain about $50 worth of basic foods like dairy products & protein-rich beans. Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: $300 Funding InformationThis project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Progress Report" tab as they become available. Donors' contributions and pledges to this project totaled $300. The original project funding goal was $10,000.
