Mission

The Swiss Academy for Development (SAD), founded in 1991, is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that is dedicated to the constructive management of rapid social change and cultural diversity. With a science-based and practice-oriented approach we seek to foster new forms of action and dialogue to create conditions for peaceful social development.

Programs

SAD recently completed a sports program for children in Bam, Iran who were traumatized by the devastating earthquake in December 2003. A new program in Sri Lanka brings together children and youth from different ethnic and religious backgrounds by means of sports and play activities.
