Computer skills for 100 Sri Lankan students Photo Gallery

Participatory learning

The IT tower not only provides the only rural 24-hour Internet connection in Sri Lanka, but can also be used to gain a vantage point while classmates put on cultural performances during lunchtime.

Learning new languages

This student practices English with an auditory language program on his laptop, which he earned through the Digital Ambassadors program. He will take the computer and his new language skills and use them to teach other members of the community.

Using Technology

This student shows how she uses a laptop to store photos taken while on a study tour. Later she uploads the photos to the website and the blogs.

Learning Under a Tree

This picture shows how the students learnt English under a tree before the computer lab was built. Now Horizon Lanka has a new computer lab.

Young people learning ICT

Scores of youth are learning ICT at Horizon Lanka to take up BPO jobs in Horizon's OnTime Technologies BPO, the first rural BPO in Sri Lanka.
