Mission

To use sports to improve the health, education, environment and skills of underprivileged commnities, especially children, girls and youth in Kibera (Nairobi) and Manyatta (Kisumu) and prepare them for integration with the rest of society.

Programs

Grassroots and performance training in soccer, rugby, basketball, swimming, athletics, gym; formal education to poor children; environmental and community leadership, coaches' training for job placement; HIV-AIDS education; girl child empowerment, networking and business training support for lobal CBOs which will lead to job creation in Kibera.

Personnel Overview

Dr. Elizabeth Odera - Director and Head Professional
She initiated award-winning programmes at Sadili Oval 11 years ago and has continued to run them personally, bringing in various partners including UNEP GSA, France SFD Programme and PTR. She has instilled professional and financial discipline in the projects and often works as a consultant for UNEP where she has piloted UNEP's Nature and Sports Camps.

William Nyawalo - Project Coordinator
He is a beneficary of theprogramme, and has returned to work for the centre. He is well -trained in report-writing, project management, communications and diplomacy and speaks English, French, Kiswahili and Luo.

Mburu - Head, Dept of Sports and Physical Education
Has run numerous stakeholder workshops in Kibera, as well as supervised the sports training of community coaches. He is qualified as a spots scientist and works with the programme to certify community coaches in all sports.
