More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
Most of the problems (sanitation, health, and economy) in the region of Nkokonjeru, Uganda, the Rural Agency for Sustainable Development have identified result from lack of education. They have had success with doing seminars on best practices in sanitation, but would like to improve their effectiveness and expand their resources, by creating a central resource center that has informational resources as well as tools and demonstration plots to promote hands on learning and vocational training.
Activities
First we will provide funds to finish the creation of the resource center infrastructure, followed by the furnishing of the center with training books and tools for carpentry, mechanic, and sewing training, and agricultural demonstration plots.

Resources
Why this Project is Important
Potential Long Term Impact
This center will provide training for the 500 subsistence farmers in Nkokonjeru, but has potential to influence 12,000 people in the Mukono district through seminars. Training will improve incomes and increase sanitation.
Project Message
Our biggest problem is ignorance. Once people are sensitized to these issues and once they know how they can help themselves and help their neighbor, they will.
