Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Un techo para mi País, is an organization created in Chile in 1997, with the main objective of ending extreme poverty in the continent. As a result of the hard work of these young volunteers, the project has presence nowadays in 9 countries, México is one of them. In Mexico we’ve been working since March 2006. We’ve already built 27 emergency houses and mobilized 150 college volunteers. 2007 represents a big challenge; we aim to benefit 200 new families, and to mobilize 1500 volunteers.

Activities

We have two types of constructions: university-led and corporate-led. However, in order to be successful, constructions are a joint effort between volunteers and families.

This project is now in implementation and no longer available for funding. Received funds will be used to accomplish concrete objectives as indicated in the project's "Activities" section. Updates will be posted under the "Progress Report" tab as they become available.

Donors' contributions and pledges to this project totaled $2,460.  The original project funding goal was $330,000.
