Personnel Overview
Muhammad Afzal Makhdoom - Director Of Operations
Afzal was a college student (MBA) when the earthquake happened. His home was completely flattened; he and his family barely made it out alive. Afzal pulled his aunt out of the rubble. When The Canadian Army DART Team began looking for interptreters to work with them on helicopter rescue missions, Afzal volunteered. Brilliant and dedicated, Afzal has been working to help his community ever since.
Raja Muhammad Arshid - Medical Director
Dr. Arshid was employed at a hospital which was destroyed. He began treating patients in his home village of Chikar, seeing as many as 600 per day during the worst days. Under the most difficult circumstances, Dr. Arshid won the respect and admiration of dozens of volunteer physicians who responded. In March 2007, Dr. Arshid was chosen to head the new CDRS supported Government Rural Health Center
Aneela Kishwer - Head Nurse (R.N.)
After the earthquake, Nurse Kishwer volunteered at a medical facility which treated thousands of victims. After four months, she joined the Greenstar Organization and worked in devastated Jhelum valley. The CDRS team deployed Nurse Kishwer and was very impressed with her skills and great compassion for patients and hired her as one of its first employees
