IPVRC is now StandProud

By Tony Gambino - StandProud Advisory Board Member, December 13, 2007 05:58 PM

IPVRC has just changed its name to "StandProud: Helping Polio Survivors and Youth with Other Disabilities in Africa to Walk." Just say StandProud, which says it all: helping African children with disabilities to walk and to have pride in themselves and what they can accomplish in their lives. What an amazing achievement for these children once their disability is corrected and they can walk, dance, play soccer, go to school, and take control of their lives. That's what StandProud helps them do.
StandProud is also proud of our many donors. This time we'd like to feature our youngest supporter, based in Maryland. She has raised over $2,000 for StandProud in the last few months around her Bat Mitzvah. GlobalGiving helped make this possible by making space and special tools available on this website for her so she could create a special page devoted to StandProud and her support for this project. The results have been amazing.
Finally, take a look at our new newsletter, which is attached. Browse through the pictures -- just looking at them may well convince you to donate.
We look forward to counting you as a StandProud donor. Thank you.
