Give Katrina-Afflicted Businesses a Boost
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and Beneficiaries21 local businesses in some of the hardest hit areas of New Orleans have already benefited from Mercy Corps quick impact grants of $2,500. Small business owners' credit, houses, and businesses were destroyed in the aftermath of the storm. Replacing lost equipment means services can come back to the community, more local dollars can circulate in the struggling post-Katrina economy, and small business owners can begin to return to normalcy. ActivitiesSmall business owners will be chosen for the program based on income levels, geographic location, and the community’s need for services. Admitted businesses will receive $2,500 to replace lost or damaged equipment, necessary for business’ viability. Funding InformationThis project has been retired and is no longer accepting donations.
