Latest Update from the Field

The Seventh Ward Marches On...

By Suzy Mason - Program Officer- MC GCHR Office, December 19, 2007 10:11 PM

Camp ACE and St. John # 5 Faith Church not only provide academic enhancement and positive youth development services for local children, young adults and families, but they also provide leadership for the entire neihgborhood and act as advocates for residents whose voices are often lost. Elderly residents, former housing development residents, victims of domestic violence and their children, and other disadvantaged populations rely on Camp Ace and St. John # 5 to act on their behalf and help the 7th Ward community come back better than ever.

Recently the organization received support and resources from the local government to enhance their youth programming. They were one of hte organizations charged with cutting the high drop out rates in the 7th Ward and across the city. Although the local government supports their good work, Camp Ace still needs your help.
