Mission
ACD promotes the rights of people, especially the disadvantaged and vulnerable women, adolescent and children at grassroots levels through improving their socioeconomic, political and cultural status, ensuring social justice and good governance.
Programs
ACD has several programs in different sectors. In the human rights sectors, ACDs programs focus on gender and social justice, womens empowerment and combating trafficking. In the child rights sector, ACD has programs for children in hazardous conditions and for promotion of childrens rights. In addition, ACD focuses on improving their institutional capacity building and sustainable development programs.

Personnel Overview
Salima Sarwar - Executive Director, ACD, Bangladesh
Salima Sarwar undertook studies on migrant and trafficked women from the Rajshahi district to India. In 1989, she co-founded the Association for Community Development (ACD). In 1992, she was elected an Ashoka fellow in recognition of her work in community development, environment and womens empowerment. She currently is a member of the Global Alliance Against Trafficking in Women.
