Project Needs and Beneficiaries
Atlas Corps identifies rising nonprofit leaders who are addressing the UN Millennium Goals, such as health & human rights, to volunteer in the US for 1 year. In 2007, the Fellows will be NGO leaders from India & Colombia and will be placed at US host nonprofit organizations in DC. Both the US & developing nation NGOs will benefit from the exchange of best practices and increased global understanding. Ultimately, this will create a global citizen sector where ideas & solutions transcend borders.
Activities
Atlas Corps is building the capacity of the global nonprofit sector through our premiere nonprofit management development fellowship program for overseas NGO leaders.

Potential Long Term Impact
During our initial year, Atlas Corps will train 7 rising nonprofit leaders from India and Colombia in nonprofit management skills that will help them build the capacity of the nonprofit sector in the US and overseas.
