Betty Makoni

Betty is a renowned activist, advocate for girls rights, Director and Founding Member of GCN. Betty is dedicated to addressing issues including rape, sexual abuse and HIV/AIDS. Betty is the Chair Person of the Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe, a network of NGOs and sits on various boards. She accepted the first UNDP Red Ribbon Award 2006 for addressing gender inequalities that fuel the HIV/AIDS epidemic on behalf of GCN. And was recently confirmed as an Ashoka Fellow.
