Mission

The center in the Ministry of Energy and Mines is determined to supply Renewable, Sustainable and Appropriate technology in the country. Since independence and on an on going basis, various applications such as Solar waterpump, Solar powered health centers/clinics, school lighting and domestic efficiency biomass stove have been distributed throughout the country. The ERTC, through intensive research activity, has modified very high efficiency stove which reduces CO2 combating climate change.

Programs

Eritrea is aware of the energy-poverty nexus. The various Energy activities undergo in providing access to modern energy services for the rural poor. It also assists them in improving their economic and social conditions to meet the MDGs goals in Ertirea. The program consists of a)100 school solar light, b)10,000 stoves, c)50 solar pump systems, d)2000 Solar home system, e)10 health centers,f) 25 health stations to be installed in the coming two years.
