Mission

Volunteers for Inter-American Development Assistance (VIDA) provides medical relief and development assistance to health institutions serving impoverished communities in Latin America regardless of race, religion or politics. VIDA ships surplus medical supplies and equipment to Latin American hospitals and clinics in need, delivers swift relief to victims of natural disasters, facilitates medical training and assistance and creates projects that improve health standards in destitute communities.

Programs

VIDA’s Medical Supply Recovery Program diverts surplus medical goods from U.S. landfills to Latin American communities in need. The Disaster Relief program utilizes our network of Latin American contacts to efficiently and effectively send and distribute supplies in times of crisis. Puente de Vida sends volunteer doctors to rural Peruvian communities to provide free medical services. Milagro de Vida provides HIV/AIDS care and education to affected communities in Peru.
