Mission
The mission of The Mountain Fund is to eliminate poverty, its causes and symptoms, in developing mountain communities around the world.
Programs
Some of our "Small Projects with Big Results": Microfinance in Cusco, Peru; Open and run a health clinic in the rural village of Thulo Syabru, Nepal; Restore a monastery in that same area; Reuse/Recycle program for outdoor gear; Medical treks into remote areas of the Rasuwa district in Nepal.

Personnel Overview
René Voss - Project Coordinator, Maya Foundation
In 2003 René, at the age of 34, left his job in the Netherlands to go and help the needy in Nepal. He moved in with a Nepali family in a small rural community, as the only westerner, so he could better understand their way of life and their needs. In 2004 he opened the Maya Foundation: for the children of Nepal. Today, he still lives in the same community, working at the grassroots level.
Scott MacLennan - Executive Director, Mountain Fund
Scott founded The Mountain Fund in 2005. He also serves as International Director, Karing for Kids; Premier Partner Trekking Program Coordinator, International Mountain Explorers Connection; President, Anatoli Boukreev Memorial Fund; Board member, Alpine Fund. He is the owner of MacManagment, which operates approximately 1500 units of low income housing in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas.
