Utilizing Straw Resources in Poland
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesBeneficiaries of this project are 50 farmers who are interested in conserving energy by using surplus straw from harvests to heat their flats. Peasant families, including the inhabitants of North Warmii villages, are impoverished due to a lack of profitable farm production. ActivitiesThis project’s goal is to perform 50 boilers on straw in peasant farms and 2 big national agricultural farms. Straw remaining after harvest is useless for farmers, causes pollution, and destroys soil. Funding InformationThis project has been retired and is no longer accepting donations. Funding Policy: partial (Retired) Additional DocumentationThis project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc). Why this Project is ImportantPotential Long Term ImpactLarge amounts of fuel that can be extracted from straw go to waste. Performing 50 boilers on straw produces about 5400 tons of cereal straw, and 70 rural families and workers will save about 50% on heating. Project Message
Working among farmers, I see that farmers use their hard-earned money to heat their flats with coal. This project helps farmers substitute straw from their own fields for coal. Who is Running This ProjectContact
