KHULISA: Youth Against Drugs in South Africa
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesCrime is a massive problem in South Africa and research continues to show a strong relationship between drugs and crime, especially amongst the youth. School children are not exposed to adequate drug education and counseling facilities are scarce. The MIB groups are a cost-effective way to provide both. This proposal is for the support of these groups post training while they achieve self-sustainability. ActivitiesTrained groups of youth leaders between 20 and 30 years visit schools and similar establishments delivering a first class drug education program to students with an emphasis on empowering them to make their own decisions.
