Training Nicaraguans to Use Natural Reserves
More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesNicaragua is rich in natural resources, but people do not know how to take advantage of these resources. Most people who live near the country’s 76 natural reserves are small farmers with little or no education. Many of these farmers have been hurt financially by natural phenomena like hurricanes and drought, obligating them to look for quick solutions that deplete natural resources. "Learning in Community" teaches farmers how to gain financially through the preservation of natural reserves. ActivitiesLearning in Community will hold workshops on forest and wildlife management, tourist promotion of these places, and the importance of conserving natural reserves.
