More Information About this Project
Project Needs and Beneficiaries
Project beneficiaries are children orphaned by AIDS and their adult caregiver living in Kampala District where 50% of people live on less than $1 a day. AIDS has resulted in over 2 million orphans, most of whom are looked after by older relatives. This increases the pressure on an already vulnerable section of society, making the provision of basic needs such as food, shelter, education, clothing and medical care very difficult, although love and affection flow from grandparent to grandchild.
Activities
The provision of cows, training in animal husbandry, finance & project management & provision of technical support in animal health care. Each beneficiary will pass on the first female calf to another continually increasing the reach of the project.
